v18.5.0

What’s new

This update adds the “Automatically activate a contact” setting for Dispatch Hub, improves stability during long sessions, and includes fixes for message recovery, emergency mode, and channel history. This is also the last release that supports macOS Big Sur.

Platform updates

This is the last Dispatch Hub release that supports macOS Big Sur (11). Dispatch Hub on Big Sur will continue to work on version 18.5.0 but will no longer receive future updates. Future releases will require macOS Monterey (12) or later. Windows requirements are unchanged.

Feature updates

Automatically activate a contact

Dispatch Hub now supports the “Automatically activate a contact” setting. When enabled by an admin, Dispatch Hub automatically switches to a contact’s talk screen when a message is received, making it easier to respond using keyboard shortcuts without manually selecting the contact first.

General improvements

  • Dispatch Hub is now more stable during long sessions with frequent short voice transmissions.
  • Improved audio prebuffering accuracy, reducing latency at the start of voice messages.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed an issue where Dispatch Hub could become stuck in emergency mode after a network interruption or reconnect during an active emergency.
  • Fixed an issue where the channel history view could jump to older messages when a new message arrived, causing the user to lose their reading position.
  • Fixed an issue where offline channel messages could be skipped after repeated network reconnections, even though the messages existed on the server.
  • Fixed an issue where the unread badge could reappear on a channel after offline messages were already viewed.
  • Fixed an issue where some audio messages failed to download during offline message recovery.
  • Fixed an issue where proxy authentication could fail when credentials contained special or non-ASCII characters.
  • Fixed an issue where quickly pressing and releasing the PTT button could create an audio session that the user could not end.
  • Fixed an issue where the image viewer could close unexpectedly while viewing images.

v18.4.0

What’s new

This update reduces memory usage during sustained voice traffic, resolves an issue with offline channel message playback, and fixes some crashes.

General improvements

  • Dispatch Hub now uses less memory during sustained voice traffic.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed an issue where offline channel messages displayed an inflated duration and played back with heavy delay.
  • Fixed a crash when selecting an incoming channel message before channel settings had finished loading.
  • Fixed a crash when editing a hotkey in contact settings.

v18.3.0

What’s new

This update introduces a resizable directory panel, reduces audio playback latency, and includes several bug fixes and performance improvements.

General improvements

  • The directory panel is now resizable, allowing dispatchers to adjust its width to better view contact, channel, and call information. Text in list items now wraps and truncates with an ellipsis on overflow, with the full text visible on hover.
  • Reduced maximum audio buffering time for lower playback latency during voice messages.
  • Improved secondary text contrast in dark theme for better readability.
  • The calls list now loads more efficiently for dispatch hubs with a large number of active calls.
  • Improved offline message loading performance and download reliability.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed an issue where offline channel messages displayed inflated durations and played back slowly.
  • Fixed an issue where transcriptions were not restored from history after signing out and back in.
  • Fixed an issue where favorited channels could not be unfavorited after restarting the app.
  • Fixed an issue where accepting a pending call did not play the initial voice message.
  • Alert timestamps now correctly show days instead of hours for alerts older than 24 hours.
  • Fixed an issue where the Dispatch Channel Users tab appeared grayed out even when users were connected to the channel.
  • Fixed an issue where the app did not navigate away from the accounts list when signing in via a deep link.

v18.2.0

What’s new

This update adds support for the autoConnectChannels setting and includes bug fixes.

General improvements

  • Dispatch Hub now respects the autoConnectChannels setting. When enabled, channels are automatically connected on first sign-in and when new channels are added to the contact list.
  • The menu icon on Windows is now larger and easier to locate on high-resolution and large displays.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed an issue where audio files could not be sent by dragging and dropping them into the app.
  • Fixed an issue where the talk button could become stuck in a transmit state without actually sending a message, requiring a restart to resolve.

v18.1.0

What’s new

This update introduces the ability to send pre-recorded audio files from Dispatch Hub and improves image download naming.

Feature updates

Prerecorded audio streaming

  • Dispatchers can now send pre-recorded audio files to contacts and channels. WAV and MP3 files up to 10 minutes in length are supported. Files can be selected through the "Send audio file" menu option or dragged and dropped from the desktop.

General improvements

  • Downloaded images now include a timestamp in the filename, so files are no longer overwritten when downloading multiple images.

v18.0.0

What’s new

This update adds support for browser-based SSO sign-in and updates audio playback and recording libraries.

General improvements

  • SSO sign-in now supports opening in the system browser, enabling compatibility with passwordless authentication methods such as hardware security keys and biometrics. Single Logout (SLO) is also supported when using browser-based SSO.
  • Updated audio playback and recording libraries for improved reliability.

v17.12.0

Bug fixes

  • Dispatch Hub now reconnects and signs back in automatically after an internet outage.

v17.11.0

Refreshed Dark theme

The Dispatch Hub’s Dark theme has been refreshed with better readability and contrast across key areas, including:

  • Locked setting text now has better contrast.
  • Incoming text messages are easier to distinguish.
  • The channel connection slider is more visible.

General improvements

  • Messages now show full sender names instead of raw user IDs.
  • Position now appears alongside display names in channels and the call queue.
  • History now shows “You” for your own call status updates instead of your name.
