This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) governs the acceptable usage of Zello (the “App”, “Service”, “we”, “our”, or “us”), a mobile push-to-talk voice communication and AI platform. Our goal is to promote responsible use while protecting the safety, privacy, and legal rights of all users.
By using our App, you agree to comply with this AUP. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.
1. Prohibited Activities
You may not use the App in any way that:
Breaks the Law:
- Uses the App to engage in or encourage unlawful activities.
- Violates any applicable local, state, national, or international law or regulation.
Harms or Harasses Others:
- Transmits voice messages that are harassing, abusive, threatening, defamatory, discriminatory, or hateful.
- Engages in stalking or unwanted communications with individuals or groups.
Interferes with Safety or Emergency Services:
- Uses the App in a way that interferes with or impersonates emergency services or first responders.
- Disrupts critical communication during emergencies or natural disasters.
Disrupts Service Operation:
- Attempts to overload, disrupt, or degrade network performance or accessibility for other users.
- Sends spam, chain messages, or unsolicited promotional messages.
Circumvents Technical Measures:
- Tries to reverse-engineer, decompile, tamper with, or otherwise bypass security or authentication mechanisms.
- Uses unauthorized third-party apps or services to interact with the App.
Impersonates Others:
- Falsely claims to be another person, organization, or government entity.
- Uses the App for deceptive identity practices, including deepfake audio or synthesized voice impersonation.
2. User Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- Protecting Access: Keeping your device, credentials, and access keys secure.
- Monitoring Usage: Ensuring that you and any authorized users comply with this AUP.
- Respecting Community Norms: Treating others with courtesy and professionalism in communication channels.
- Reporting Abuse: Promptly reporting suspected AUP violations to [email protected].
- Safe Usage: Zello recommends all users avoid distracted driving or operating machinery while using our App.
3. Enforcement
We reserve the right to:
- Monitor usage to investigate suspected violations.
- Suspend or terminate access to the Service without prior notice for any breach of this AUP.
- Report unlawful behavior to appropriate legal authorities.
- Remove or restrict access to channels or user accounts associated with abusive behavior.
4. Emergency Use Notice
Zello is not a substitute for emergency services (such as 911 or equivalent). Do not rely on the App for life-critical or mission-critical communication unless your organization has a verified integration with authorized public safety infrastructure.
5. Policy Updates
We may revise this AUP periodically. Updated versions will be posted at zello.com, with a new “last updated” date. Continued use of the App after updates means you accept the changes.
